We are so excited to be here because not only that it is our first time in Ethiopia, but also our first time in the whole continent of Africa. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a super friendly ride driver. From that moment, we knew that Ethiopian people are going to be wonderful. We checked-in to our serviced apartment in Kirkos near Bole, Addis Ababa. This is one of safest areas in the city. After an apartment tour, we headed to the street right away where we were blown away by how modern Addis Ababa is! The street is clean, large pedestrian walkway, bicycle path, modern bildings...we had a great first impressions of Addis Ababa. We also had traditional Ethiopian food for dinner. It was our first time trying Ethiopian food, and we were surprised by how flavourful everything was. We had kitfo, a traditional dish which originally consist of raw meat. But, since we were new and nervous to try raw meat, we asked for it to be cooked. We aso tried beef tibs, served with Ethiopian traditional bread, injera. Injera was the star of the show. Injera is seriously yummy and the texture is unique. Our first day in Ethiopia was amazing. We can't wait to explore more!
