Pet Owners Advised to Check Microchip Registrations After “Save This Life” Closure - The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County

Video Description
A microchip only works if the contact info attached to it still exists.
Here’s how to check yours in about 60 seconds:
1. Have your vet scan your dog so you know their microchip number.
2. Go to the AAHA Microchip Registry Lookup Tool: https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-registry-lookup-tool-aaha-find-your-pets-microchip-registry/
3. Enter the number.
The site will tell you which registry (if any) your chip is linked to.
If it shows no registry or the company is inactive, don’t panic! You do not need a new chip! Just re-register that same number with a working registry. There’s a list of active registries on the AAHA lookup tool page!
👇 If you checked your dog’s chip after watching this, comment “checked” so more people see this and make sure their dogs are protected.
Share this with someone who has a dog!
