It was finally time to say goodbye. I absolutely hated having to take these old, worn-out stairs down but they were no longer safe and simply had to go. What made this one of the hardest demo days ever is the history—these weren't just any stairs. My dad built them with his own hands 30 years ago, and with his passing last year, removing them felt like saying goodbye all over again. The goodbye was tough, but with the new, safer staircase already finished and repositioned on the deck, taking down the old set was the final, necessary step.
