We’ve covered multiple criminal cases on this channel that were completely botched by law enforcement either because of their incompetence or their unwillingness to act. But this video is about something much worse. In fact, it is the most extreme case of police corruption we’ve ever seen. A whole string of murders in New York where the killers that detectives were supposed to be looking for… were themselves.
On the evening of November 6,1990, 48-year-old Eddie Lino was driving home after finishing work for the day. As he neared Brighton Beach, an unmarked Crown Victoria sedan fell in behind him and flashed police lights. Lino pulled over, expecting nothing more than another routine encounter. Two men approached, badges visible, so he lowered his window. One plainclothed detective asked him “What’s that on the floor?”
As he looked down, he was shot nine times at close range and left slumped inside his car. The two shooters returned to their vehicle and vanished into the night.
But the perpetrators of this murder, as well as many others, were not killers impersonating the police, they were the police.
Detectives who not only worked for a secret crime organization, they killed for them.
