For years I assumed these were completely wild monkeys living naturally in the snowy mountains. But standing there watching them, I realized there’s a little more to the story. A whistle blows, and suddenly monkeys come running from all directions. A park worker arrives with a bucket of seeds and scatters them around the man-made hot springs — even tossing some directly into the steaming water. The monkeys follow the food, settling into the baths as if it were all part of their daily routine. In the end, the tourists are happy, the monkeys seem happy, and honestly, I have no regrets about visiting.
