Video Description
I never thought I’d line up for a race without believing I could win — and after Kona last year, I promised myself I never would again.
But after nearly seven months of health setbacks and limited preparation, I made the decision to race Ironman 70.3 Indian Wells anyway. Not because I was ready — but because I needed to remember what racing actually demands, mentally and physically.
This wasn’t about the result. It was about putting a score on the board, exposing where I’m weak, and relearning the level of suffering required to compete at the highest level.
In this video, I walk through the race, the mistakes, the injury scare, and why despite everything this race was a necessary step forward.
Sometimes the lesson is worth more than the result.
