Welcome back to the Unreal Engine 5 Tutorial Series for Beginners (Part 53)! In today’s lesson, we’re leveling up our environmental storytelling by creating a cinematic destruction event. We are going to build a functional Ship Explosion Blueprint that triggers exactly when the player reaches a specific point in the level. You’ll learn how to seamlessly swap a "clean" static mesh for a "damaged" one, activate particle systems for fire and smoke, and tie it all together using a Box Trigger and Custom Events. What You’ll Learn in This Video: - Asset Prep: Importing and modifying materials to create a "burnt-out" look. - Blueprint Logic: Managing multiple static meshes and particle components within a single Actor. - Visibility Toggling: How to use the "Set Visibility" node to swap meshes instantly. - Custom Events: Creating an "Explode" event to keep your code clean and organized. - Trigger Boxes: Using the Level Blueprint to detect the player and fire off our explosion logic.
