Video Description
In this video, I tackle the biggest challenges in recycling 3D printing filament, and show how I’m optimizing the process to make it actually worth it. Brought to you by Onshape. Try Onshape Free – Engineers Get Up to 6 Months Pro: http://jle.vi/onshape
For the past two years, I’ve been deep in the world of DIY filament recycling, building my own DIY filament recycler, DIY filament maker, and just trying to figure out how to turn failed 3D prints into usable filament, without spending a fortune.
And while I’ve made some serious progress building an affordable at-home filament recycling workflow to recycle 3d printer waste, there are still a ton of challenges that make recycled filament inconsistent, frustrating, and sometimes just not worth the effort.... especially as diy filament recycling is about to become more mainstream with the creality filament maker, the creality m1, launching soon on kickstarter.
So in this video, I break down the biggest problems with recycled filament, and more importantly, show exactly how I’ve been improving filament quality step by step. If you've ever been interested in buying a filament maker, building a filament recycling machine, a filament poop shredder, or just making your own filament... you aren't going to want to miss this one!
Stick around until the end, because I think I’ve made a major breakthrough that could make diy filament maker setups actually practical for the average person to use at home.
