This homemade raspberry BBQ sauce is one of my all-time favorite barbecue sauces, and it comes straight from my days of owning a barbecue restaurant! I've scaled it down for a home kitchen, and it's incredibly easy to make, you'll have it done in about 15 minutes.
The combination of seedless raspberry jam, brown sugar, and a warm spice blend with a little kick from chipotle and black pepper creates a sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy finishing sauce that is absolutely incredible. The apple cider vinegar and lemon juice balance everything out perfectly so it's not too sweet.
This sauce is amazing drizzled over pork loin, pork tenderloin, ribs, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, or chicken wings. Use it as a finishing sauce — just drizzle it over your cooked meat right before serving. It's not like a traditional red barbecue sauce that you slather on. A little goes a long way!
Don't panic when the sauce looks thin right after cooking, it thickens up beautifully once it cools down. Store it in the refrigerator and bring it to room temperature about an hour or two before serving for the best flavor and consistency.
