This week we installed the roof trusses on our mountain home — completely by hand, no crane, no machine. I got to be right in the middle of it, climbing through the trusses as they went up and tying everything together. It was equal parts sketchy and exhilarating. Balancing, moving, and working in some pretty precarious positions gave me a whole new respect for how much coordination and focus this kind of framing takes. I learned a ton on this one. And getting to do it alongside a crew that’s not only incredibly skilled, but also hilarious and hardworking, made it one of the most fun days we’ve had on this build. Let’s get to work!
