Join us as we continue our RV adventure along the Mother Road through western Arizona. We start with breakfast in the RV before leaving Williams and heading west toward Ash Fork, visiting a quirky local museum and learning about the town’s historic railroad past. From there we drive the longest continuous stretch of Route 66 in Arizona, eventually reaching the legendary town of Seligman, birthplace of the modern Route 66 preservation movement. Along the way we explore iconic roadside stops including Delgadillo’s Snow Cap, vintage cars and folk art around town, the Roadkill Café, and the massive Route 66 sign. Then we descend 220 feet underground at the Grand Canyon Caverns, the largest dry caverns in the United States, complete with a Cold War fallout shelter and the famous mummified bobcat. Continuing west through the scenic desert, we stop at Peach Springs, the Hackberry General Store, the quirky Giganticus Headicus roadside attraction, and more classic Route 66 landmarks before ending the day near Kingman, Arizona and checking in on my future RV base: Pelicamp West. Expect roadside nostalgia, desert landscapes, quirky attractions, local history, RV cooking, and some of the most scenic driving along the Mother Road.
