This Route 66 road trip is packed with roadside Americana: Russell’s Truck & Travel Center and its classic car museum, San Jon’s giant flip-flop, abandoned Route 66 ruins like Cedar Hill Grocery and Budville Trading Company, and a stop in Laguna Pueblo to see the historic San José de la Laguna Mission Church. Next we roll west on Route 66 through Albuquerque, including the famous intersection where the Santa Fe alignment and Albuquerque alignment meet at 4th & Central, plus downtown icons like the Kimo Theatre area and the Dog House chili dog stop. From there it’s on to the Rio Puerco Bridge, the Route 66 Casino, Grants’ neon drive-thru Route 66 sign, the Continental Divide, and an overnight at Red Rock Park.
