Today I’m sharing 3 traditional Amish recipes straight from a handwritten cookbook I picked up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania - including a breakfast casserole, a sweet peanut butter spread, and classic whoopie pies. These old-fashioned recipes are simple, comforting, and full of nostalgic flavor.
Last year, I took a trip to Amish Country with some dear friends, and I came home with the sweetest little handwritten cookbook from Mrs. Riehl’s kitchen. It’s filled with family recipes that have been passed down for generations and today we’re bringing a few of those to life right here in my kitchen.
In today’s video:

These are the kinds of recipes that remind us how special simple, homemade food can be and honestly, they took me right back to that beautiful trip and the memories we made there.
