I kicked things off by jumping on a scooter and riding to the other side of Bangkok to visit Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market. I walked around the market, checked out the stalls and street food, and soaked up the local vibe — but plot twist… there was no floating market happening (no boats!) on the day I went. Still, it was a great spot for a wander and a proper break from the usual tourist areas. After the market, the adventure level went up. I started riding around the swampy backroads/green areas nearby trying to find a ferry back across the river… but it turns out you can’t bring a bike/scooter on the ferry (at least where I tried), so I ended up going on a full-on detour. Honestly, it was a blessing — I got to see a completely different side of Bangkok, and I had some really fun chats with locals along the way. Then I headed back into the city for the main event: Bangkok Chinatown (Yaowarat) at night. The streets were absolutely buzzing — neon lights, crowds everywhere, nonstop food stalls, sizzling woks, and pure chaos in the best way.
