I’ve been guilty of a lot of this. But over time, I’ve learned—some things just aren’t worth it anymore. I’ve learned that being smart with money isn’t about being cheap—it’s about being intentional. Stop paying for hype, stop chasing status, and start investing in things that actually improve your life. Let me break it down for you.
1. Don’t rent tuxedos - If I’m a grown man and I get invited to a black-tie event, I’m buying a tux—renting is a straight-up waste of money.
2. Don’t wait on “the list” for luxury watches- Waiting a year for a Rolex? Nope. I go where the product is available now and skip the hype.
3. Don’t opt for custom suits - I used to preach custom, but brands like SuitSupply changed the game. Incredible quality without the insane price.
4. Don’t waste money on designer wallets - Spending hundreds on a wallet is ridiculous—it’s not adding value, it’s just flexing.
5. Stop trusting high-end designer clothing - Brands like Armani and Hugo Boss? Quality dropped. You’re paying for the name, not the craftsmanship.
6. Never buy fake leather - Shoes, belts, jackets—if it’s not real leather, I’m out. It looks cheap and wears out fast.
7. Don’t buy anything on credit - Installments? Payment plans? That’s a trap. I practice delayed gratification and pay cash.
8. Don’t buy expensive sunglasses - I learned they cost next to nothing to make. Paying $500 is just getting played.
9. Skip high-end designer fragrance- There are amazing, affordable options—smelling great doesn’t require blowing $300–$500.
10. Avoid outlet and fast fashion - Cheap clothes don’t last. One wash and they’re done. Not worth it.
11. Don’t buy because they’re on sale - If I don’t need it, it’s not a deal—it’s wasted money.
12. Don’t bulk-buy what you won’t use - A “deal” isn’t a deal if it sits unused. Be honest about what you actually need.
13. Don’t chase the latest tech - New versions aren’t that different. It’s hype, not necessity.
14. Don’t eat garbage food or overpay for delivery - Fast food wrecks your body, and delivery apps wreck your wallet.
15. Don’t pay for bottle service or fake flex - Trying to look rich is the fastest way to stay broke.
16. Don’t fly first class domestically - For short flights, it’s just not worth the premium.
17. Don’t order overpriced steaks at restaurants - I can cook it better, healthier, and cheaper at home.
18. Don’t pay for cable TV - Streaming replaced it. Cable is outdated and overpriced.
19. Don’t rely on trendy supplements or shortcuts - Peptides, unnecessary TRT, random supplements—discipline beats all of it.
20. Don’t buy designer pets - Spending thousands on a “status dog” when shelters are full? Not worth it.
21. Don’t buy status symbols - I’ve learned—stuff doesn’t make you happier or better.
22. Don’t buy brand-new cars - Depreciation is brutal. A 2–3-year-old car is the sweet spot.
