Next, we visited Gujranwala Sweets in Mitha Bazaar. This place is famous for its Katlama, a traditional delicacy originating from Peshawar. The dish is served with halwa and costs around ₹60 per plate.
Just nearby, we tried poori chole at Jain Poori Wala. The meal includes aloo sabji, channe, and multiple varieties of pickles such as aam ki launji, kaddu khatta meetha, gajar ka achar and kachalu ka achar. The poori chole plate with two pooris costs ₹80.
We then explored the Mai Hiran Gate Market, known for its book market and traditional shopping lanes. Near the new railway station, we also found many shops selling musical instruments where buyers travel even from places like Himachal Pradesh.
Our next stop was Shri Devi Talab Mandir, which is considered one of the sacred Shakti Peeth temples. The complex also houses temples dedicated to Vaishno Mata, Maa Tripurmalini, and Salasar Balaji.
At Football Chowk, we saw many sports goods stores. Jalandhar is known as a major hub for sports equipment manufacturing in India.
Later we tried moong dal pakode at Jawal Di Hatti, which cost ₹50 per plate.
Our journey then took us about 20 km to Kapurthala, a city known for its royal heritage and the Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala. One of the notable landmarks here is the historic Jagatjit Club, reflecting the city’s royal past.
We also visited Panch Mandir, followed by the old clock tower and the scenic Shalimar Bagh.
