30km long run today.
Long slow distance is still a necessary piece of building real Ironman fitness. You don’t build confidence in one workout, and you don’t build it in one week either. It comes from months of consistency.
Right now I’m about three months into consistent training again after the injury stretch last season, and I’m starting to move from thinking I can perform… to knowing I can perform.
Texas will be the real test.
That race is going to shape the rest of my season. If I can prove to myself I can compete with the top guys again, it changes everything about how the rest of the year looks heading toward Kona.
Unfinished business there for sure.
