Headliner Dye

While we wait for the new Emtron ECU to arrive for our STI-swapped 2.5RS, it’s time to start knocking out a bunch of the smaller projects I’ve been putting off. None of these jobs are particularly difficult, but they’re time-consuming, and when you’re building a car like this, the small things can end up being the biggest roadblocks. In this video, we work on fitting the front bumper to the car. Sounds simple, right? Not exactly — this bumper is designed to work with a crash bar, which we don’t have, so we have to modify and fit everything to work properly. We also start fabricating the axle-back portion of the exhaust now that we finally have the rear bumper installed. On top of that, the headliner needs to be dyed black so we can start getting the interior back together. Building a project car always has a weird order of operations, and sometimes you hit points where you can’t move forward until a bunch of small things are finished. So that’s the goal for today — push past some of those obstacles and keep the build moving forward.
