Timing Light

Well… this isn’t exactly the update I was hoping to make, but it’s time for a big change on the 2.5RS — we’re swapping ECMs. We’ve run into the exact same issue we had with the EG33 setup. Our current Haltech ECU is struggling to keep a consistent sync between the cam and crank signals, and it continues to throw sync error codes. I was really hoping we could solve this with a different crank sprocket, but with AVCS and multiple cam position sensors in the mix, it’s just not that simple. The Haltec just doesn't have an option for that trigger system type. At this point, the best solution is to change our engine management system. We’re currently deciding between the Motec M150 and the Emtron KV8. Both are incredibly capable ECUs, so now it really comes down to choosing which direction we want to take the build.
