A South Carolina family has filed a lawsuit against Anderson School District and two other organizations, alleging negligence and failure to protect a student from years of grooming and sexual misconduct by a former teacher. The suit claims that Nicole Callaham exploited her position to sign the victim out of school and supervise his activities, starting when he was 14 and continuing for at least two years. In addition to the district, the South Carolina Governor’s School and Project Challenge Playhouse are named for allegedly allowing the misconduct to persist during dorm check-outs and drama practices.
