I moved to rural Japan to slow things down… and somehow, my cat Millie has now landed her first sponsor. In this video, a parcel arrives just for her, and of course she’s far more interested in the box than what’s inside. We open it together, she tries her new water fountain, and I share a bit of everyday life here — a small shopping haul, a simple healthy lunch, and a quiet walk. Living out here can be peaceful, sometimes a little too quiet, and Millie has become more than just a pet — she’s my companion in this slower life. So seeing her “pay her way” (or at least attempt to 😄) felt a bit surreal. I also open some beautiful mail from the postcard club, and end the day with one of those simple, calm moments that have slowly become part of life here.
