Fireplace Insert

I built a DIY fireplace wall and entertainment center for my living room! Four years ago, I built this fireplace when I bought my first house. But after recently ripping out the ceiling in this same living room and raising it to 15-foot ceilings, that fireplace suddenly felt way too short. Instead of starting from scratch, I decided to extend the existing framing and build the fireplace all the way up to the new ceiling. In this video, I’m sharing the full DIY fireplace process from demo to rebuild… including framing a fireplace to the ceiling, adding cement board, filling seams, applying black microcement, and turning an original ceiling beam into a custom mantel.
