In this episode, we take on one of the most challenging off-road recoveries we’ve ever experienced while traveling in Baja California Sur, Mexico. When our friends called to say their Unimog was buried deep in a mud pit and considered unrecoverable by many of the locals, we headed out to help without knowing what we were getting into. What followed was a four-day recovery effort that constantly evolved as conditions changed, plans failed, and even the recovery vehicles became stuck themselves. With multiple expedition trucks involved, heavy mud, limited traction, and no easy solutions, this Unimog recovery turned into a true test of teamwork, patience, and problem-solving in remote Baja terrain.
