We waited too long to finish this upgrade on our Unimog expedition truck, and it finally caught up to us. After getting a flat tire on a steep shelf road, we realized the remaining three tires we hadn’t replaced since our upgrade at Rob Pickering’s shop in Colorado had become a real safety issue. In this episode we take our 1987 Mercedes Unimog 1300L expedition truck into Phoenix, Arizona to buy three new off-road tires and show the full process of mounting and balancing tires this large on a heavy overland vehicle.
