In this video, we’re diving into a shocking topic about work stress and its consequences, especially in India’s public sector banks. While most people know about the sad death of a young woman, Anna Sebastian, who died because of work stress, what many don’t know is that 500 bank employees have died due to the same reason. But, their stories never made national headlines. Why? Because the real reason lies in money.
Indian banks made record profits last year, ₹1.78 lakh crores, but employee numbers have been going down. Workers are overworked, facing huge targets, and some even leave behind suicide notes blaming the impossible pressure. Even though there are over 32,000 open jobs, the government is choosing to take profits instead of filling those positions. The government owns these banks, controls them, and gets huge dividends, but doesn't want to fix the problem at its roots. It’s a situation where everyone is benefiting, but the workers are suffering.
What needs to change? Can stress surveys really fix the issue if the cause isn’t addressed? Watch the full video to learn more about this serious issue and what can be done about it.
