The ACU Archery SOS Heavy Metal Barebow Weight absolutely works… but the real question is whether the tradeoff is worth it. In this review I test the SOS system on my barebow setup to see how it handles the natural vertical float that comes from string walking, tiller split, and the unique aiming movement barebow archers deal with. The result surprised me. In the vertical configuration it dramatically reduced my up and down float, but it also introduced a much worse left and right jitter that made aiming feel far more erratic. When I changed the orientation to weaken the left and right effect, it became much more usable and may have offered a slight overall improvement compared to a standard barebow weight.
