The Najdorf Variation of the Sicilian Defense (B90 - B99) is one of the sharpest, most heavily analyzed and most fun openings in all of chess. It can lead to completely mental positions which not many humans can completely understand. White has 11 (!) different ways of fighting the Najdorf and I will cover each in a separate video.
Today we're covering the Nb3 variation, a sideline in which white moves the knight away from d4 voluntarily, and discourages black from entering the main line Najdorf structure, in which they play e5 and create a hole on d5. Nb3 isn't challenging for black, nor is it optimal for white, but it's still a move black should be familiar with. Many beginner players and online players have lost to it!
