Video Description

In this video we cover the Adams Attack, my favorite weapon against the Najdorf Sicilian. Download the annotated Sicilian repertoires: https://www.patreon.com/posts/sicilian-defense-152926119? Here is what I use to learn openings: https://chessbook.com/hanging-pawns Books on the Sicilian Defense: https://chessreads.com/sicilian-defense Practice the Sicilian repertoire for black: https://go.noctie.ai/sicilian-black Learn the basics of the Sicilian: https://youtu.be/UQlQjco7Mc8 The Adams Attack, 6.h3, is a relatively new way of fighting the Najdorf Sicilian. It was First introduced by the American player Weaver Adams in the late 40s. Bobby Fischer played it successfully on several occasions, but it never became popular on the GM level until Karjakin played it in 2008. It's among the most complex Systems white can play against the Najdorf and it's not a simple attacking setus such as the English Attack or 6.f4. In this video I explain all the basic strategic ideas and attacking patterns, and alll the sensible options Black can play against h3. The Najdorf Variation of the Sicilian Defense (B90 - B99) is one of the sharpest, most heavily analyzed and most fun openings in all of chess. It can lead to completely mental positions which not many humans can completely understand. White has 11 (!) different ways of fighting the Najdorf and I will cover each in a separate video. 0:00 Introduction to the Adams Attack 02:50 Strategy and basics of the Adams Attack 17:50 History of the Adams Attack 27:31 Theory of the Adams Attack
