Firing squads were an effective, quick, and altogether unpleasant punishment during the Long 18th Century. How were they carried out? And how did soldiers of the time feel about observing, and partaking, in them? In this video I look at a few examples of soldiers' memoirs where the usage of firing squads was recorded.
