This build combines 3D modeling, resin 3D printing, and hands-on prop finishing to replicate one of the saga’s most iconic scavenged деталей. Starting with a surprisingly common precision screwdriver cap used in the original prop, I redesign it into the screen-accurate 8-fin version, then pair it with a modeled Burnherd MC10 collet and custom fork detail to complete the assembly. From there, I take you through my full painting and weathering workflow—using primer, matte black base coats, pewter Rub ’n Buff, acrylic washes, and Fuller’s Earth to achieve a gritty, worn metallic finish straight off a crashed Imperial Star Destroyer.
