Scofield won the liability phase for defamation against Guillard, and the case went to trial so a jury could decide how much Guillard needed to pay Scofield in damages. Guillard chose to represent herself, and the result was disastrous. In February 2026, a jury awarded Scofield $10 million in damages between both compensatory and punitive damages.
