Starke Sound loaned me these speakers to review. At $500/pair they're right in pocket with its competition where various tradeoffs are made and looks often are the deciding factor in this price class. The KEY here is that these really benefit from being placed closer to a wall and turned off-axis by about 10-20 degrees. Those two things will - in my humble opinion - make or break your experience with them. when this is not done I found the midrange too thin and the treble excessive. I believe if you set these speakers up in this manner you'll be happy with the purchase. Of course, YMMV.
