The plan was simple, save money by milling my own timber from fallen trees on the property. But trail building doesn’t always go to plan, and this one turned into a pretty expensive mistake. After breaking my chainsaw, dealing with an overheating mini excavator, and putting in a heap of work by hand, I finally got the new mountain bike feature built and ready to test. What started as a budget-friendly MTB trail building project ended up costing me more than expected, but in the end, this new section of trail turned out unreal and was seriously fun to ride.
