A major fire at a vape shop in Glasgow has forced Scotland’s busiest railway station to close for at least two days. Glasgow Central station has shut after the blaze, which started at a shop selling e-cigarettes on Union Street, spread to a Victorian building yards away, causing part of it to collapse late on Sunday. Network Rail said the station, which dates back to the 19th century, would probably remain closed until at least Tuesday. A spokesman added that “while the fire is now under control, emergency services are still on site”. The fire has caused major travel disruption, with all services to and from Glasgow Central suspended.
