Video Description
I've been itching to ride my KTM 390 Adventure R in the backcountry of Central Oregon ever since I got it. We're currently in the middle of the worst winter I can remember in terms of snowfall (as in, there isn't any) which sucks, but might as well take advantage of it and do an ADV ride up into the mountains to see where the snow level is.
On this trip, it was me on my 390 ADV, @thegracefulrenegade on her (formerly my) Honda CRF300L Rally, and our buddy Ryan on his Kove 800. We explored muddy gravel roads, took the 390 Adventure R off road and through the snow, and eventually even did some ADV bike riding on singletrack. Which is where things took a turn...
At one point, my KTM 390 Adventure R kickstand spring decided to take its leave of us and was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, a quick trailside fix with safety wire was enough to get us to the local KTM dealership, where they fortunately had a new 390 ADV kickstand spring (I bought two) and were kind enough to install it.
This was my second major off road riding on the KTM 390 Adventure R and I'm very impressed with the weight and flexibility of small adventure bike but I'm still not enjoying the power delivery and lack of low end grunt.
Riding the KTM 390 ADV R on single track was a blast and the bike did incredibly well. Aside from the broken kickstand, obviously. Hopefully this is the worst of the KTM 390 Adventure problems I'll encounter...
