This might be a hot take… but after skiing Alpine Meadows for the first time, I think I might actually prefer it to Palisades Tahoe. After several days chasing the massive Sierra storm cycle and skiing the legendary terrain on the Palisades side, I finally decided to explore the other half of the resort.And now I’m wondering why I waited so long. With fresh snow still sitting on the mountain and bluebird skies over Lake Tahoe, Alpine Meadows completely shocked me. From wide open bowls to incredible tree skiing, this side of the resort has a totally different vibe than Palisades. Quieter, more playful, and packed with amazing terrain. Some locals will tell you that Alpine Meadows is actually better than Palisades Tahoe, and after skiing it for the first time… I think I agree.
