🎤 Prusa Interview from FormNext: https://youtu.be/z6Rd-k9lPEA
-----------------------------
I have a stupid relationship with Prusa printers.
Every single time I use one, I remember why I fell for the brand in the first place. They’re calm. Predictable. Built like tools instead of toys. You press print… and they just print. No drama. No babysitting. No “why is it doing that?” moments.
And yet in 2026, recommending a Prusa feels weirdly difficult.
Because while the rest of the market has been sprinting toward convenience - auto-everything, purge systems, colour changers, dryers, cameras, filters, cloud features, fancy UIs and slicers that hold your hand - Prusa are still doing things very… Prusa.
Measured. Engineered. Sensible.
Sometimes brilliant.
Sometimes frustrating.
And that leaves this strange gap where these machines feel incredibly premium and incredibly behind at the same time.
So where does the new Prusa Core One L actually land?
In this review I unbox it, set it up from scratch, and run it like I actually would in my workshop - real prints, real jobs, real day-to-day use. We look at the full hardware design, the 300 x 300 x 330 build volume, the enclosure, airflow approach, bed system, hotend, usability quirks, networking, Prusa Connect, and what it’s actually like living with this thing for more than five minutes instead of just reading a spec sheet.
I also dig into the bits people don’t talk about enough: what it’s like compared to modern “feature stuffed” competitors, where the workflow feels dated, where it feels incredibly smart, and why Prusa machines still have this bizarre ability to make you want to keep printing long after you planned to stop.
There’s also a proper look at the controversial stuff - the camera implementation, filtration being optional, manual processes that other brands automate, slicer UX differences, colour changes, maintenance philosophy, and whether Prusa’s slower, more considered approach still makes sense in a market that now expects convenience first and engineering second.
Because this isn’t just a specs comparison.
It’s a question of who this printer is actually for.
Home hobbyists?
Tinkerers?
Farm owners?
Small businesses?
Or just long-time Prusa fans who like machines that feel like tools instead of gadgets?
If you’ve ever wondered:
- Is Prusa still worth it?
- Are they falling behind?
- Is the Core One L better than the competition at this size?
- Or why so many people weirdly “love” Prusa printers despite the missing features…
that’s exactly what this video is about.
